I cant seem to stop binge drinking, been through treatment and aa what to do?

No, an alcoholic will forever be an alcoholic, there is not drinking, remaining sober but if an alcoholic takes a drink it is the same as if he had never quit, therefore there is no cure.
Think about your family. Think about all the things you could do in life without drinking. Think about living a longer life so you can be with your family and friends a longer time. Ask your friends to be with you for a couple of weeks and completely not let you drink.
alcoholics will always be alcoholics. they can never say that they have been recover. there’s always a chance that they go back to drinking again.
There is no cure. People who have been alcoholics for a long time will tell you that the craving never goes away. They may get good at controlling the urge, or find something in their lives to take the place of the urge, but it never goes away. Keep going to AA meetings, stay strong, and ask someone to help you find something deep and meaningful that will take the place of drinking.

Complete abstinence, not going to bars, leaving behind your drinking buddies, not using any other drugs,……………….Of course none of this will work unless you really want it to for yourself.
No there is not a cure. That is why once an alcoholic, they always refer to themselves as “recovering alcoholic”. Just stay in the system and get yourself a sponsor. There is also a drug called anabuse that gives you a violent reaction if you drink while taking it. Good luck and God bless.
Mind over matter. You have to hit the very rock bottom and then you have to want to get better and want to stay clean and then you have to work through the 12 steps-honestly with yourself and others around you. You have to want it for you and you have to do it for you. Its not supposed to be easy. The bad part is once an alcoholic always one..there is no magic cure. Good luck and change who you hang around with if they enable you to drink.

There is no cure to alcoholism.
The alcoholic is fortunate that the disease of alcoholism is treatable; it can be arrested and it has a good response rate to treatment. But treatment is of no avail unless the alcoholic subscribes to total abstinence from drinking alcohol in any form. As pointed out above, once they have lost control over alcohol, they will never regain it.
The sooner the progress of the disease is recognized and arrested the easier the return to a comfortable and continuing sobriety and the less physical and mental deterioration there will be.
when you feel the urge to drink, go somewhere that it is unacceptable to drink…don’t go to parties where you can be seduced into drinking….pray….go to the movies, go to the amusement parks…just do something to keep your mind off it…good luck and take care….even if you do drink…don’t drive…if you have the will power you can accomplish what ever you put your mind to…be strong!
Well Bigshot it takes lots of support from friends and family… its hard when both also drink… its like smoking… when you still hang around with your smoker friends you can’t stop… get with others that are trying to quit of course AA… and like others have said your going tohave to hit rock bottom… something bad happen and I hope it not behind the wheel of a car… take care and good luck… sorry… I didn’t have a sure cure…
Saddly no. Only living a sober lifestyle keeps the disease in remition. Perhaps you were not ready then. Try going back to AA and seek members who have also been binge drinkers. Ask for help, as hard as it may seem. It felt like an impossible task for me at first, yet I found a way of life that works for me. I now have been sober 15 yrs. Good luck to you.
Do you have a Sponsor and call him on a regular basis, r u working the 12 steps of AA, my Sponsor told me that I need to go to a mtg. everynight that I used on. I used everyday of the week!!
the only cure for alcoholism is inside of you…..i know that sounds stupid but it’s true…….i was a binge drinker for a really long time……every night……..i finally decided if i didn’t stop it would kill me…….then one year i went out on my birthday with a firm decision……..get as drunk as possible and have a great time………then quit drinking for 30 days………difficult? absolutely. possible? only if you want it bad enough. I had to stay home at night because going out everyone was drinking of course……..now i can drink when i want…..or not. It worked for me. Maybe you can make it work for you. I personally don’t believe that someone else can “help” you stop………only you can do that…….but you have to really want to and believe that you can.
try regular counseling and a doctor maybe he can prescribe anabuse or something that will make you sick as a dog if you drink untill the cravings subside, and give AA another try this time don’t quit and find more meetings if you have to, obviously you didn’t have a sponser, cause if you did they would want you to call any time day or night when ever you had the urge. and if you stick with it long enough you will learn about the higher power and how it works, Good Luck and God Bless
there is not a cure, however, since you have the tools, you can teach yourself now how to drink responsibly and be an adult, to set examples. You can stop the binge by deciding yourself what you can do for you to make you stop and think about why you are doing it.
allow your self to sober up and perhaps have one glass of expense wine with dinner. and no more. allow yourself 5 drinks a week. and stick to it at home with company and no driving.
Go back to AA treatment again,and again,and again,and again.There is no cure,but there is life time help.If you really want it.
